I am getting married to the man I love. We’re planning to have two wedding ceremonies done here in Singapore. One is a Morrocan Wedding, as he is a man from North Africa and a Chinese Wedding, to follow my roots as a Singaporean.
We wanted to be married as soon as possible, so we decided to get a ready-made wedding clothing. We don’t want to waste our time on the preparation anymore, so we both ask our parents if they agree to these proposals. Thankfully, they did.
My family helped me find my soon to be husband Moroccan clothing for him and for his family. They said that it will be hard to find ready-made Moroccan wedding clothing here in Singapore. I told them it’s impossible since; I know how well to develop this country is, it’s possible to find the clothing that we are looking for.
So, we decided to search online, since everything in Singapore is accessible, it’s easier to find what we are looking for than going in and out of the mall for nothing. Instantly after typing “Moroccan clothing in Singapore”, an online store pops up name, Maghrebi.
Browsing their websites amazes me because they sell Moroccan men and women’s clothing but also some home décor that we could use as our wedding souvenirs.
In the midst of our browsing the website, my husband said that there is no restriction for a Moroccan-theme wedding dress, but if I wanted to wear a traditional dress, it should be kaftan—a sort of long robe and worn under the jacket.
After selecting the clothing we wanted, we finally decided to choose kaftan as our wedding clothing style. Everything in the collections is majestic, but we decided to choose black as the main colour for our wedding. My husband chooses Moroccan Embroidery Top–Black Gold for my husband's wedding clothes that is well suited to my wedding dress, Butterfly Kaftan.
To our family, friends, and guessed, we decided to encourage them to wear Moroccan clothing, they want to wear kaftan for men, and if they feel like it or wear any clothing. They think that would suit them the most and to our wedding.
As for our wedding souvenir, we decided to buy Atlas Lantern because of its mesmerizing beauty carved in every detail that we immediately imagine unique ray and shadows it will portray when it is lit by candlelight
Soon after, we will have our Chinese wedding, I get to wear my mom’s Chinese wedding dress and he will borrow my dad’s Chinese Tunic Suit.
Having two weddings is all worth the hassle for the man I love and with the help of Maghrebi it makes preparation easier because the clothes are all ready to wear.
Now, what matters the most is to be wed to my soon-to-be-husband. I can’t wait for our Moroccan wedding day to come, as I wanted to see my husband wearing the clothes we ordered online here in Singapore.
