Can pole dancing help me lose weight? Yes, as you continue with your pole dance practice, you will be able to burn more calories and gain muscles. However, as a beginner in pole dancing classes, it is necessary to know what you need to do. That way, you would not inconvenience others. Here are some of the things you need to keep in mind.

  1. Do Some Warm-Up

Like most exercises, it matters to do some warm-up so your body would not get stiff when you start your pole dance practice. It would also help you not get injured when you lift and swing your body in the air. So, make sure to arrive early at the pole dance studio in Singapore. That way, you would have time to do some warm-up.

  1. No Applying of Lotions

Even though it might sound obvious, it is worth mentioning since others forget that lotions could make your skin slippery. When that happens, you might accidentally fall while holding the pole.

  1. Never Wear Any Accessories

Otherwise, you get some scratches as you lift yourself from the ground. So, before your beginner pole dancing classes start, you should take off all your jewellery. Also, if you can, wear contact lenses instead of your eyeglasses.

  1. Wait for Your Turn

Not everyone is a genius. Some learn faster than others, while the rest need more tries to master one pose. So, make sure to wait for your turn and never hurry anyone while they are still using the pole.

  1. Wipe the Pole Before Using

When it is your turn, make sure to wipe the pole with a cloth first. That way, you would not touch the sweat of others. Do the same thing after you finish your pole dance practice.

  1. Bun Your Hair

That way, your hair would not get through your eyes and disrupt you from your practice. If you can, wear a headband, too!

Familiarise yourself with these things. That way, as a beginner in your pole dancing classes, you would not commit any mistakes. If you have not joined a pole dance studio in Singapore yet, sign up at Breathe Dance Company. Their pole dance instructor will help you master pole dancing as if the pole is part of your body!
